Although it is only June and we are all looking forward to summer sun and the hope of getting out more while continuing to be safe, Rosh Hashanah will be upon us before we know it.  Every year Temple Tikvah’s Sisterhood partners with ORT for the Honey From the Heart fundraiser. A delicious 8 ounce jar of Kosher honey will be sent to your friends and family for a donation of $12.00 per jar.  The process is very simple.  If you wish to place your order electronically, click here for an order form.  In addition, if you would like to be included in wishing our clergy and staff a sweet year,  click here. It only takes a small donation of $7.00 for each person.  You will be surprised at the big smile a little jar of honey can bring.

The deadline for free shipping on electronic orders is July 22nd.   I am happy to process your orders for you if you just fill out the order form with the names and addresses of your recipients and mail it to me at 63-63a Douglaston Parkway, Douglaston, NY  11362 by July 17th.  Please remember to make your check payable to Temple Tikvah Sisterhood.  Do not hesitate to contact me at if you have any questions.

Now more than ever, everyone needs a little added sweetness.  This year your donation will go directly to support temple.  Many of our temple fundraisers that we usually enjoy in the spring have been canceled this year due to Covid-19.  Therefore, I hope you will join us in making this a most successful fundraiser to show your support in these difficult times.

L’shanah tovah,

Michele Gold

Honey Chairperson

Temple Tikvah Sisterhood is a spirited and diverse group of women whose goal is to create bonds of friendship, support the congregation, promote spirituality, and encourage the continuation of education and learning.

We do this by engaging in a variety of activities and initiatives, including dinners (naturally!), excursions, lectures, paid-up membership brunch, rummage sale, Hanukah boutique and Purim baskets. We also are the force behind many of Temple Tikvah’s most popular and spiritually satisfying holiday events. Our Women’s Seder, brings women and girls of all ages together to celebrate the unique role women have played at Passover. We also are so proud of our annual Sisterhood Sabbath completely written and led by our sisterhood members.

Sisterhood also is responsible for numerous creative fundraising endeavors, bringing entertainment, laughter, and a little nosh together for a good cause. We usually meet monthly and would love for you to join us.
