It’s not just lip service.
When we say we’re inclusive, we mean it,
we live it and we love it.

Take a seat in our classrooms, join us for
Shabbat services (and Onegs of course!),
or any of our congregational events and you’ll
find a Goldstein sitting side by side with an
O’Grady or a Senise.  We not only value, but
cherish all those who choose to worship, study
and celebrate here at Temple Tikvah.

We embrace all kinds of families here:  Interfaith,
single-parent, adoptive, families with
same-sex
parents and those with special needs.  And when
it comes time for a Bar or Bat
Mitzvah, your service
can be uniquely tailored to include all those who
want to participate
in this most joyous and spiritually
important event.

A few words from our Nursery School Director,
Nuccia Hernan:

As a nursery school teacher I find this to be a
great opportunity in reaching out to our
young
families, particularly to the Interfaith community.
While teaching the children about
Shabbat,
Jewish Holidays and Jewish values I have the
opportunity to answer questions and
direct
parents to useful resources in helping them
learn about Judaism.  During our Shabbat
service on Friday’s and holiday celebrations,
the Rabbi and I like to give everyone in
attendance a brief summary of why the holiday
is celebrated and its importance.  Teaching
the children the importance of family, the
importance of being responsible to oneself (by
learning and following Mitzvot taught in the
Torah) and toward giving to others (by giving,
i.e. Tzedakah) they are learning Jewish values.

I have been hosting free workshops for our very
young families for several years.  These
workshops usually follow the Rabbi’s Tot Shabbat
Service.  The purpose of the workshops is
to introduce, interfaith, blended, and those young
Jewish families who are reconnecting to
Judaism,
a simple and relaxed atmosphere to learn and
explore with their children the vast
richness of
Jewish life.  These workshops have also given many
of these young families an
opportunity to connect
with other young families.

The Rabbi and I have been working closely during
the summer to bring to all young families
who are
interested in introducing their young children to
Judaism, a new series of workshops
and Tot
Shabbat Services.
