Religious School

The goal of Temple Tikvah’s Religious School is to create positive Jewish memories that our students and parents cherish for life. Our school provides instruction and develops student mastery of Jewish history, prayer,
observance of customs and rituals, and encourages students to live ethically, performing mitzvoth and acts of Tikkun Olam. We nurture a connection, commitment and solidarity with Israel. We build a strong temple community by fostering the partnership between spiritual leaders, teachers, students and congregants.

Special Education
We are excited to provide a Jewish experience for all children.  We have begun a self contained Special Education class for students who are not used to being mainstreamed.  Our teacher is experienced in meeting the needs of Special Education children.  Additionally we provide push in support to students in need.  We provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners.

In our Hebrew High School  8th through 12th grade students discuss pertinent issues of the day, study a variety of topics, participate in many social action activities, attend NFTY NAR events and weekend retreats. Confirmation occurs at the culmination of the tenth grade.

Temple Tikvah Religious School Families participate in many events and support the school through an active PTA. Parents volunteer their time to prepare, and participate in school wide holidays and Kollels-where parents and their children join together on a Sunday morning to study Jewish themes.  This year we will be studying Reform Judaism through fundraising activities and the collection of items for families and children either homeless or in need.  We have partnered with a wonderful local outreach center:  The Interfaith Nutrition Network in Hempstead Long Island, also known as the INN.

For additional inforamtion, please email our Educational Director, Sharon Fricano at sharon@templetikvah.org.

We are a community committed to our childrens' religious and spiritual education and strive to meet the challenges of the 21st century by providing this enriching, supportive and joyful atmosphere.
