TIKY is the youth group of Temple
Tikvah. It consists of a senior youth
group for students in Grades 9-12
and a junior youth group for students
in Grades 5-8. TIKY is a part of NFTY
(North American Federation of Temple
Youth), our national Reform Jewish youth
movement, and NFTY-NAR (NFTY-New
York Area Region), our regional Reform
Jewish youth movement. Examples of
past TIKY events have included overnight
shul-ins, a car wash, laser tag, a tag-football
game, bowling, a TIKY-led Shabbat service
for the congregation, an inter-faith dialogue
with a local Muslim youth group, our annual
trip to Six Flags, and more. We invite all
students in grades 5-12 to join us!
TIKY’s goals:
-to build friendship and community
-to build strong Reform Jewish identities
-to provide leadership opportunities
-to provide social, cultural, religious, and
social justice opportunities within a Jewish
context
TIKY is led by a leadership board of youth
groupers who create, promote, and run all
of TIKY’s events, programs, and services.
TIKY is overseen by Chirli Youssefia, our
Youth Director and our Youth Committee.
Our youth committee meets once a month
on Tuesday evenings. Please contact Youth
Committee Chair Gary Weinstock for more
